Standalone
Individual doors managed at the door itself. Cost effective for a handful of openings where central reporting is not required, though administration gets painful as door count grows.

Access Control
From a single controlled door to networked multi site systems with tiered permissions and full audit trails, installed across commercial London.
System Types
Individual doors managed at the door itself. Cost effective for a handful of openings where central reporting is not required, though administration gets painful as door count grows.
Controllers linked to a central head end, so permissions, time profiles and lost credentials are managed in one place and every event is logged.
One system spanning several buildings with centrally managed users, useful where staff move between locations and you need a single view of who can go where.
Credentials
The commercial default. Choose encrypted credential technology rather than legacy formats that can be cloned in seconds from a pocket.
Credentials issued to a phone, which removes card stock, speeds up onboarding and makes revoking access immediate when someone leaves.
Simple and cheap, but a shared code is not an audit trail. Suitable for low sensitivity doors, not for anything you may need to investigate.
Strong authentication for high sensitivity areas. Note that biometric data carries additional data protection obligations, so it needs justifying rather than defaulting to.
Life Safety
This is the part that gets bodged when the access and fire systems come from two different contractors, and it is the part that matters most.
Access controlled doors on escape routes must release on fire alarm activation. That interface is designed, wired and proven at commissioning, not assumed.
Each door is specified for how it should behave on power loss, balancing escape requirements against security. Getting this wrong either traps people or leaves the building open.
Emergency door release units positioned correctly on escape routes, tested as part of handover.
Because we install fire and access, the interface between them is our responsibility rather than an argument between two suppliers after an inspection.
Whether it is one door or an estate, we will survey the openings and specify a system that suits how the building is actually used.
