Purpose Per Camera
Every position is specified for what it must achieve: monitor, detect, recognise or identify. Those are different pixel densities, and a camera set up to observe a car park will never identify a face at the door.

CCTV
4K IP surveillance for commercial premises across London, designed around evidential quality and lawful operation rather than camera count.
Design Principles
Most commercial CCTV disappoints at exactly the moment it matters. The image is there but the face is unusable, the plate is unreadable, or the footage was overwritten last Tuesday.
Every position is specified for what it must achieve: monitor, detect, recognise or identify. Those are different pixel densities, and a camera set up to observe a car park will never identify a face at the door.
Backlit entrances, glazed receptions, dark yards and headlight glare all defeat a badly chosen camera. Lens, sensor and mounting position are selected against the conditions at that specific spot.
Recording capacity sized to the retention period you have actually decided on and documented, not whatever the recorder happened to ship with.
Line crossing, intrusion detection, ANPR and people counting configured where they add operational value, and left off where they would only generate noise nobody reviews.
Your Obligations
Operating CCTV in a commercial setting makes your organisation a data controller. That is a legal position with duties attached, and it does not transfer to your installer.
Clear signage telling people they are being recorded, who operates the system and how to make contact. Covert recording is a separate matter with a much higher bar.
A decided, justifiable retention period with footage removed after it. Keeping everything indefinitely is not a neutral choice.
Individuals can request footage of themselves. Your system needs to make that practical, including redaction of other people where required.
We design with these obligations built in and advise on what you need in place. We are installers rather than legal advisers, so for anything contentious take proper advice.
Common Questions
Fewer than most quotes suggest, correctly positioned. We would rather install eight cameras that do their job than sixteen that produce unusable footage.
Long enough to be useful, no longer than you can justify. Many commercial sites settle around 30 days, but it depends on your operation and how quickly incidents surface.
Yes, on mobile and desktop, with user accounts so access is controlled and logged rather than shared around on one password.
Often, yes. We survey what is installed and tell you honestly what can be retained and what is false economy to keep.
