Intruder Alarms
Wired, wireless and hybrid intruder detection for commercial premises, designed to EN 50131 and PD 6662 at the grade your insurance policy actually requires.
Grades
EN 50131 grades systems by the sophistication of intruder they are designed to resist. Commercial policies usually name a grade. Get it wrong and you may find out at claim stage.
Suits many low risk commercial premises: small offices, units and shops where the expected intruder has limited knowledge of alarm systems and uses basic tools.
The common commercial requirement. Assumes an intruder with knowledge of alarm systems and access to a range of tools. Most insurer specifications for stock holding premises land here.
High risk and high value premises where intrusion is expected to be planned and resourced. Specified where the loss exposure justifies the additional detection and tamper protection.
System Design
Motion detection selected for the environment rather than the catalogue: dual technology where heating or air movement causes grief, curtain and beam detection on perimeters, vibration and shock on vulnerable openings.
Areas grouped so the building can be part set while cleaners, night staff or a single department are still working, without disabling protection everywhere else.
Dual path signalling to a monitoring centre where the specification requires it, with confirmed activation to support a police response where the system and its certification allow.
Keypads, tags, fobs and app control with individual user codes so the log shows who set and unset the system, not just that somebody did.
Common Questions
It will be stated in the policy wording or the surveyor report. Send it to us and we will design to satisfy it rather than assume.
Wired remains the more robust choice where cable runs are achievable. Wireless suits listed buildings, occupied premises and fit outs where disruption matters. Hybrid systems combine both and are often the sensible answer.
Police response requires a monitored system meeting specific standards and a unique reference number issued under the local force policy. We will tell you honestly whether your situation supports it before you commit.
Usually detector type, siting or a system that was never commissioned properly. We survey, identify the cause and correct it rather than simply isolating the offending zone.
New system, upgrade, or an existing alarm that is not doing its job. Send us the policy requirement and we will arrange a survey.
